Fayetteville startup finalist for $2M prize - Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

stratupnation.blogspot.com

A Fayetteville electronics company has made it to the final round of a global startup competition where the top prize is $2 million cash.

Ozark Integrated Circuits Inc., whose goal is to connect the internet to jet engines, the vacuum of space and other extreme environments, is the only Arkansas entry left in the MassChallenge competition.

Out of 244 startups that went through four-month accelerator programs in Austin, Boston, Houston and Rhode Island, 48 finalists were chosen. Almost all of them are outside San Francisco, nearly half have at least one female founder and more than 20% are from the Midwest or South.

They will go though a final round of judging before winners are announced Oct. 22 at the 2020 MassChallenge Virtual U.S. Awards event, scheduled to livestream on its website at 4 p.m.

Ozark Integrated Circuits, founded in 2011, has worked on a number of projects, creating hardware, software, circuits and packaging for aerospace and industrial use. Its software has recently been used to monitor ultraviolet radiation in earth's orbit with data from the International Space Station.
